SJL is a social justice incubator that develops new projects and tomorrow’s leaders. We work with grassroots organizations and corporate funders; local communities and major celebrities; high school students and experts from all walks of life who combine their knowledge, resources, passion, and ingenuity to create innovative solutions for positive change.
Our Mission
SJL is a collaborative space where individuals from all walks of life can work together to identify areas of injustice and develop new approaches to solvable problems. We believe in gathering input and building alliances across communities, cultures, races, ethnicities, socio-economic status, policies, and politics.
Gita Stulberg founded Social Justice Lab (SJL) in 2017 with the mission of bringing professionals from varied backgrounds together to innovate new strategies for progress in social justice, as well as to identify and cultivate new social justice leadership.
SJL believes that effective change starts with radically inclusive communication. We seek out the perspectives of artists and entertainers, social workers and community members, politicians, parents, educators, athletes, academics, the elderly, the young, and others in order to examine an issue from all sides and develop workable solutions to solvable problems.
SJL organizes events of all kinds from rountables and forums to block parties and rallies, in support of important causes, candidates, and issues. We continue to update and adapt our outreach models to respond to the ever-changing environment that impact public engagement strategies. SJL is currently reimagining person-to-person engagement on virtual platforms in the time of Covid-19.
SJL believes in the power of matching public figures and organizations with grassroots programs, actions, and communities. We forge mutually beneficial partnerships based on shared convictions, brand alignment, and sustainable levels of commitment.
SJL is committed to fostering the future leaders of social justice. We seek to identify leadership potential at an early age and provide them with the tools, mentorship, and support they need to turn their passion and creativity into concrete progress and change.
SJL partners with issue-based and political campaigns at the local and national level to foster project development and create innovative engagement strategies. SJL is currently advising MyVote Project, a non-partisan voter education platform. We also developed and ran Andrew Gillum’s ‘Bring it Home’ Bus Tour at the end of 2018 Florida gubernatorial campaign primary race. In the general eledtion SJL ran the campaign’s Surrogates Program, bringing 70+ celebrities as well as national political leaders to support the campaign at events and in media appearances.
SJL supports progressive movements and actions. We believe in showing up to make our voices heard at rallies, protests, marches, picket lines and polls! We also collaborate with groups to develop strategies for making their marches and actions successful.
Social Justice Lab Partners are based in Boulder, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Oakland, Orlando, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. We consist of Artists, Entertainers, IT professionals, Child Psychologists, Healthcare practitioners, Academics, Economists, Social Media Influencers, Legal Advocates, Community Organizers and Political Operatives around the country who are committed to cultivating the next generation.
